Our Educators
To meet the growing public demand for health information, Olmsted Medical Center has developed its multidisciplinary education program which emphasizes prevention, self-management, and healthy lifestyle. Our patient educators are excellent resources for patients who are seeking a greater understanding of a variety of health care topics.

Shawn Craig RD
Shawn received her Bachelor of Science degree at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California. She did her practical work at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. She has worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Community Nutrition before joining the OMC team in 2003.
Rynn Geier RD, LD, CDE (American Diabetes Association Program Coordinator)
Rynn received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She completed her practical work at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. She is currently a member of the Rochester District Dietetics Association, the American Dietetics Association, and is part of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Greater Rochester Program. Rynn joined the OMC Diabetes Team in 1999.
Greg Hagen RN, CDE, CHES
Greg received his Bachelor of Arts (Biology) at St. Olaf College and a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at Winona State University. Greg also spent a one-year internship at the health service of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the National Wellness Conference working in wellness/health promotion. Greg has certifications as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) since 1990, and as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) since 1992. Greg is a member of the American Association of Diabetic Educators (AADE). He joined the OMC Diabetes Team in 1998.
Bridget Ideker RD, LD
Bridget received her Bachelor of Science in Community-Medical Dietetics from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She has previously worked in long-term care and home-care settings. Bridget worked as the Nutrition Services Manager at OMC-Hospital before taking her current outpatient clinical dietitian position with OMC. Bridget has held positions at the local and state level of Dietetic Associations. Bridget joined the OMC Diabetes Team in 2001.
Janice Miller RN, BSN, CDE
Janice received her Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan, Flint, Michigan. She has been involved in diabetes education for ten years, receiving her Certification for Diabetes Education ( CDE) in 1993. She has worked as a diabetes educator at Genesys Home Health and Hospice in Flint, Michigan; in the High Risk Pregnancy Program at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Michigan, as well as in Hurley Medical Center's Diabetes Education program. Prior to joining OMC, Janice worked at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, Wisconsin in the diabetes center. Currently she is president of the Southern Minnesota Organization of Diabetes Educators (SMODE) and active in the AADE (American Association of Diabetes Educators).
